In a recent interview Michael Bay spoke about how car companies were dying to be featured in Transformers 4: Age of Extinction and were after him to strike a deal, even offering to fly out any of their cars to him.

Bay spoke to Entertainment Weekly about how initially he had to run after car companies to get them to join the franchise for the first film but now things had completely changed.

"The first time, I had to beg for vehicles," he said. "But now - I am not kidding you - every car company says, 'We will fly out any car to show you so it can be in the movie as long as it's one of the good guys."

The director also spoke about how there were a few exceptions to the norm, as Lambhorgini had agreed to come on board to play the vehicular form of Lockdown, who is not exactl one of the "good guys." Interestingly though, Bay said the carmaker had little hesitations about that as Lockdown is not an outright villain.

"He's just a bounty hunter, so they were okay with that," Bay joked.

He also went on to talk about the length to which car manufacturers actually went, as in the case of Daimler Trucks North America, which provided its 2014 Freightliner Argosy.

They spent literally a million and a half dollars designing [it], and they paid for it," Bay said. "They see the value of what this movie does for the car world."

Transformers: Age of Extinction will release on Jun. 27 2014.
