Britain's Got Talent recently featured a memorable audition from Allan Turner-Ward, a DJ whose remix of a classic song made him one of the more polarizing contestants of Season 8.

Turner-Ward auditioned on the seventh episode of the season, which aired Sunday, and presented his song Pose, a remix of a track from the '60s. The catchy dance song won the crowd over, as well as judges Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams, but cantankerous judge Simon Cowell was not liking it.

"Allan, I'm not being rude, I don't know what these guys just listened to, but it was horrendous," Cowell told the DJ. "One of the worst things I've ever heard in my life. It just doesn't get worse than that."

However, the three other judges were into what Turner-Ward describes as the song's "dancelicious, cheesy beat," and sent him through to the BGT semifinals.

The 37-year-old DJ has been obsessed with DJing for 20 years, as he explained on the show, and is currently on Radio Winborne.

"I wouldn't just say I love it, I am obsessed with it," he said in his audition. "There will be no one that watches me DJing and says 'he's alright', they'll say 'he's awesome!'"

Turner-Ward spoke with Enstars on Tuesday, revealing the reception he's received on the street as well as his plans for the next stage of the competition and his career.

After noting that his phone and his Facebook and Twitter pages have been blowing up, the DJ revealed that he "got recognized going jogging yesterday" in addition to being "followed to my house by two women wanting a picture."

A self-proclaimed "massive fan of the show," Turner-Ward said he decided to audition for Britain's Got Talent this season in order to further his own career. He said that while he is fortunate to do DJing for a living, he is not "blatantly established" enough.

During Turner-Ward's big debut on BGT, he did have the crowd going, with the exception of Cowell, but the DJ has a positive spin on the judge's reaction.

"It was a shame that he says I was the worst thing he has ever seen in his life, although at least I made an impression... fair enough a bad impression," he quipped. "He did smile a lot for guy that hated it so much though, don't you think?"

Asked about his more original act potentially helping him move forward in the competition, Turner-Ward noted that some people do want "the originality of someone that at least produces and writes their own records rather than doing a nice cabaret."

However, he also admitted that those who sing cover songs for the show often have "the pressure of being compared to the original version."

Turner-Ward likes to find the "un-obvious tunes" for remixing rather than well-established songs from artists like James Brown, Jackson 5 and KC and the Sunshine Band. He said that for remixing, sometimes it just "hits" him about what he wants to do, allowing his "creative intuition" to take over. He also writes and produces some original songs.

Moving forward into the semifinal round on Thursday's live show, Turner-Ward has a performance up his sleeve for a song that he believes will be a "summer smash" once Britain hears it.

"The track I'm doing on Thursday night is also 'dancelicious,' not quite as 'cheesetastic' as the one [for] my audition but there is an infectious dance to go with it too." He will be performing his song Shake the Knees, which he recorded and shot a video for several years ago.

Even if he doesn't win Britain's Got Talent, Turner-Ward intends on continuing to produce "fun tunes to have a party to." He said that he wants to take the "ATW party" around the world, adding that he even wants Cowell to join in.

However, fans might not see him dancing anytime soon, according to Turner-Ward:

"Let's be honest, if he has ever been to a party I doubt he is ever on the dance floor."
