Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes revealed what his hopes are for the future of the series, giving some speculation on how people could view it.

Lady Mary To Be Involved In A New Romance?

On Wednesday, The Telegraph reported that Fellowes may want to change the show's broadcasting schedule so no storylines get leaked.

"I want to have simultaneous transmission in America and in Britain," the creator told Mandrake. "The difficulty that we have is that people are discussing the series as it happens online before America's seen it and on the Internet we're all in the same company. It's madness."

One Of The Main Actresses Quitting The Series?

Fellowes mentioned that a transmission took place with another television show so there ought to be a way for it to happen with Downton Abbey.

"The BBC have shown it can be done because they did it with Doctor Who so all this talk that it's impossible is wrong," he said. "I don't mean exactly the same time so people have to stay up all night, but instead the same day in order for everyone to have a chance to watch it."

An executive from PBS previously gave the impression that a transmission might not be the best decision.

"The fact that word-of-mouth travels after it airs in the U.K. has actually benefited us, we kind of don't want to mess with that," the executive said.

There was a recent rumor that movie star George Clooney might make an appearance on the series after he reportedly took his fiancee Amal Alamuddin to the set of the British drama.

Downton Abbey Season 5 is expected to premiere in January 2015 on PBS.
