The 4th of July New York City's Fireworks are also a spectacle for thousands of residents and visitors in New Jersey.

The Macy's fireworks display on the Hudson River will begin at approximately 9:20 pm. More than 40,000 fireworks launched from four barges will be displayed synchronized to a 25-minute soundtrack.

Weehawken, Northern Hoboken and Jersey City Heights are among the towns with the best viewing of the Macy's fireworks show along the waterfront, city officials said.

Those places are recommended for unobstructed views of the show, however, people are also expected to view the show from the waterfront in Downtown Jersey City but officials advised the views may have some obstructions.

The City of Hoboken is expecting to host tens of thousands of guests to view the show which is the biggest in the country. One of the best locations furthest north in Hoboken is Maxwell Park, located on the waterfront along 11th Street to 14th Street, the city said on its website.

Another good spot to view the fireworks in Hoboken is on Sinatra Drive, a waterfront running from 1st Street to 15th Street that will be closed to all traffic allowing only pedestrians and emergency vehicles to enter. Pier C Park will be open only for disabled guests.

The City strongly urges visitors to take public transportation such as the PATH, Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, NY Waterway ferries, or NJ Transit commuter rail or bus.

New Jersey visitors are advised that no alcohol, open cooking or barbeques are permitted.

In New York City the fireworks display will take place on the Hudson between 18th street and 43rd streets. For the best views, 12th Avenue below W. 59th Street are recommended. The following are access points along 11th Avenue:
