We may have to wait all the way until 2016 to get our next Batman and Superman fix but that leaves a gaping hole for fans of the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel.

DC INSISTS THAT BATMAN VS SUPERMAN IS NOT A JLA PREQUEL!

The big blue boy scout and the Dark Knight aside, the Justice League of America will need some serious back up for their tentpole characters from the League. Fans are clamoring for The Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern and of course Martian Manhunter. Some have balked at the idea of having Ben Affleck don the cowl of Gotham City's favorite son and naysayers were shocked at just how cool the first Bat-fleck picture looked as he brooded over this awesome looking batmobile.

With Marvel Comics doing amazing business in virtually all of their properties, the Disney titan has become a formidable foe in the race to who holds the title to best comic movies.

While MARVEL seems to continually shelling out hit movies, DC has not done much outside of the Dark Knight Trilogy and a spotty Man of Steel movie in 2013. Bottom line: DC needs a bonafide hit or else.

Purists have lambasted Zack Snyder for his vision of Man of Steel which "only" grossed $291 million domestic. It may sound like a lot but the bean counters did not think so making a JLA movie fall squarely on the shoulders of how well Batman Vs. Superman does at the box office and around the world. Another topic that may kill the franchise is that no matter what producers decide, fans will not be happy with with what League members get the nod to be in the enormous production should it come to pass. Here's hoping that the movie every DC fan has been hoping for is not weighed down by a heavy dose of Kryptonite.
