Jennifer Hudson was set to perform Independence Day concert with the Boston Pops at the city's iconic Esplanade, but the concert was delayed because of a storm threat, reported Aceshowbiz.com.
Public safety officials evacuated about 500,000 audiences gathered at the Esplanade to celebrate July 4th as thunderstorms moved to the area Wednesday night.

State Police spokesman David Procopio said, "Lightning was observed along nearby areas of the Charles River in Boston and in neighboring communities." There was no rain at the Esplanade, but two people were found to be struck by lightning in South Boston.
The concertgoers were allowed back in 30 minutes later and the fireworks display went on as scheduled while the Oscar-winning singer's stage was cut short.
