One Direction may have gotten in to some trouble after a leaked video surfaced of two of the boys reportedly smoking weed, but the X-Factor contestants will always have Simon Cowell as their number one supporter.

"What I can say is that they're the hardest-working boys I've ever worked with," Cowell told Digital Spy. "They still haven't changed."

"They're really respectful of their fans [and] they're a great British export... they've been a joy to work with," Cowell continued about 1D. Cowell continued to say how the boys, who were found on the British version of X-Factor, have never lost sight of their fans, despite recent behavior.

These are similar sentiments, which were tweeted out by fellow 1D member Liam Payne recently. On May 31, Payne tweeted out many thoughts apologizing for recent behavior.

"I love my boys and maybe things have gone a little sideways I apologise for that.We are only in our 20's we all do stupid things at this age," Payne wrote. "We all have a lot of growing up to do in an extreme circumstance I'm not making excuse but it's fact we are gunna fall short somewhere.

"Hopefully we stand the test of time an get it right in the end I don't take this for granted and im extremely grateful to be here doing this...Thank you to everyone who has stuck with us through this just know that we love you guys for it and it means the world."

The video, which was leaked in May, reportedly showed Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik smoking weed while on tour in Peru. The only statement One Direction has made about the video is that it was "stolen" from the group.

One Direction is set to be on tour in the United States starting in August 2014.
