Danny Noriega has come a long way since his time on the seventh season of American Idol. Better known now as Adore Delano from the latest season of RuPaul's Drag Race, the 24-year-old released his debut album, Till Death Do Us Party, on June 3. The upbeat album quickly shot to No. 1 on the iTunes Dance Albums chart, something Delano worked diligently to achieve.

"It feels awesome," Delano told Enstars over the phone on Wednesday. "I guess that my hard work paid off. I'm really excited about it."

The star, who was getting ready to perform at Roscoe's Tavern in Chicago at the time of the interview, co-wrote every song on the album and many are based off personal experiences.

"I lived those moments and put them into songs, so I'm proud of it," Delano said. "It's a solid, grungy, pop album with some heart and soul."

For example, he said, the album's enjoyable second single I Adore You, was written about a man, whose heart was broken by the singer. And, it's also one of Delano's favorite tracks off the debut, especially because of the way fans have embraced it.

"There's just such a strong energy in the room when that song is playing," Delano said. "When it plays people are actually into it and know it and it's really, really crazy and mind-boggling when you see people [singing] a song that you wrote yourself."

Noriega, who is set to tour worldwide, said he appreciates American Idol for helping him get comfortable in front of cameras, but he gives even bigger thanks to Drag Race for taking his career to another level.

"I'm doing what I want to do in life," he said. "It's really helped me out a lot and I'm forever grateful for it."
