It looks as though moviegoers might have a new Catwoman, as the last one was disastrously played on the big screen by Halle Berry. This time around British actress Emily Blunt may be tipped to play the new Catwoman in the highly anticipated Batman vs. Superman movie.

According to the Belfast Telegraph, Blunt is currently in talks to join what might be a star-studded lineup for the Man of Steel sequel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

If Blunt will accept the role, she'll be joining Henry Cavill, who will be returning as Superman, along with Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter and more.

In addition, Hollywood actress Amy Adams will be reprising her role as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White and Diane Lane as Martha Kent.

Filmmaker Kevin Smith recently gave his thoughts about the new Man of Steel sequel and how it might be a sure-fire hit at the box office.

"They're obviously beginning something, and there's a stretch of these flicks, and so this is the beginning of the Justice League, as we all suspect as they were announcing that cast," Smith said. "We were like 'This is the beginning of a Justice League movie.' From what I understand now, it's no longer like, 'This is Superman 2."

Directed by Zack Snyder, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to be released in theaters on May 6, 2016. Meanwhile, Blunt is currently on the big screen with her latest flick, Edge of Tomorrow, opposite Tom Cruise.
