Now, according to The Malay Mail, the 21-year-old model was the one to call off the relationship because things were getting too serious too quickly, and she wasn't interested in a commitment.

"It was always going to be a flash in the pan thing and it looks like its run its course," a source said on June 8.

Delevingne reportedly deeply cared for Rodriguez, but she wasn't ready for a long-term commitment, something Rodriguez was more keen on.

"Cara really cares for Michelle, but wasn't sure she was ready for a long-term commitment. Michelle wanted to get them a place in LA and Cara felt it was moving too fast," another source said. "She enjoys Michelle's company, but didn't want to feel tied down."

Rumors of a split have plagued the former couple for months, after they spent a large amount of time separated because of work.  After Rodriguez wasn't present at Delevingne's sister Poppy's wedding celebrations, the two appeared to confirm a split.

At the time, it was reported that Rodriguez had pulled the plug on the romance after she became sick of seeing her girlfriend in photos with countless other female celebs, including Suki Waterhouse, Sienna Miller, Rihanna and Rita Ora.

"It looks like Michelle and Cara are now over for good," sources said in May. "Michelle got tired of Cara constantly being pictured with other female celebs."

"Michelle isn't as interested as being in the limelight," they continued. "She thinks they have different priorities."
