Teen Mom star Maci Bookout is rumored to owe nearly $80,000 in taxes to the United States Federal Government.

On June 4 In Touch released the "Notice of Federal Tax Lien" that is said to have been sent to Bookout. According to the document, the government has attempted to notify her on numerous occasionas. Since the star has not responded to these notices, the government will be within its right to seize her assets. She also owes "interest and penalties" on the unpaid money.

Bookout, 22, is from Tennessee and got her start on MTV's 16 and Pregnant in 2009, which chronicled her experiences as a teenager mother. She had given birth to her son Bentley in 2008 with then-boyfriend Ryan Edwards. She also appeared on three seasons of the MTV spin-off Teen Mom.

Bookout had been considered one of the tamer Teen Mom stars, in spite of numerous tattoos and a number of short-lived relationships.

Unlike some of the other stars, who have tried to capitalize on their fame, Bookout seemed to have focused primarily on her own parenting during her last season on the show.

"I just like to watch me and Bentley on TV," she laughed in a 2012 US Weekly (featured below) interview before going on to discuss the little things, such as riding a bike, that her son had begun to do.

Bookout has yet to comment on the state of her finances at this time.
