Even though her story is told mostly in flashbacks, it looks as though Kerry Washington is looking to the future when it comes to her popular Scandal character, Olivia Pope. The actress, who just gave birth to her daughter Isabelle last month, recently opened up about the enigmatic character she plays on the small screen and her hopes for her for the fourth season of the show.

"I think she's still trying to fix things," Washington says in a new interview with the L.A. Times. "I think that's part of her personality... I think she's still trying to fix situations - whether it's for her neighbor, or her grandkids, or the jam factory or her husband, Jake."

Washington was also asked what she would have done differently if she could go back in time and tell herself when she first started filming Scandal several years ago. The hit ABC show has made the actress a household name thanks to its popular fan following on social media and consistently strong ratings. For Washington though, she says she wishes she would have documented her life behind-the-scenes of the show a little bit better during the first season.
