It looks like one lucky fan will have a character named after him in George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire book before being killed off, of course. The book series inspired the highly rated HBO drama, Game of Thrones.

Is Another Character Set To Die In The Season Finale?

Facebook employee Dave Goldblatt has won the chance to have Martin create a new character with his name after winning a $20,000 charity auction prize at a recent event. A second winner was announced during the charity event and will also have a character named after them, but has asked to remain anonymous.

"I'm just lucky enough to be in a position to do this," Goldblatt said of the $20,000 prize. "Obviously, the money is going to charity, so it's an added bonus. I didn't immediately seek to help wolf sanctuaries, but the more I read about the charities, I learned it was a worthwhile cause."

Who Is Jon Snow Going To Romantically Pursue Next On Game Of Thrones?

Meanwhile, Martin says he wishes producers could extend the Game of Thrones season in order to add more scenes in the episodes that can both add "texture" and better establish character relationships on the show.

"I wish we had more episodes," Martin said of the season in a new interview. "I'd love to have 13 episodes. With 13 episodes, we could include smaller scenes that we had to cut, scenes that make the story deeper and richer."

Game of Thrones' season finale, The Children airs this Sunday at 9 p.m. EST/PST on HBO.
