While country stars Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert have maintained a united front against divorce rumors, Shelton has admitted that ignoring the tabloids was a struggle in the beginning.

These days the two easily shrug off rumors of cheating or pregnancy, joking about it either through Twitter or openly in interviews. It wasn't always like that though, and the scrutiny took some getting used to.

"She means so much to me," Shelton claimed in Us Weekly June 12, "I do think some of that early tabloid stuff that happened probably did have an effect on her. And I was upset for her to go through it."

In discussing Lambert's new album, Platinum, Shelton explained that some of the music was influenced by early stress. "I think there will be a reflection -- when you listen to the album -- a reflection of some of those times," he said, "That are going to be in a song she has called Priscilla. It's kind of known that that's directed straight at me."

While early speculation considered the song to be a direct comparison of the country couple to the famed Presleys, both Shelton and Lambert agree that the song is meant to explore that sense of media scrutiny which they have begun to identify with.

"It just takes this one small little thing and it creates this story that they can legally print and put out," explained Shelton in a recent interview (featured below). Shelton admitted that while he does want them to stop, eventually it comes to the point where you just accept it and try to ignore the rumors has best you can. "It's irritating," he added, "But you just go on."
