He's currently preparing to help his team take home  back-to-back FIFA World Cup titles, but back during the 2010 World Cup, FC-Barcelona Centre Back Gerard Pique was predicting that singer Shakira would have a child with him by his next appearance at the event.

Shakira Not Cheering For Gerard Pique In World Cup?

According to India Times, the World Cup soccer player and singer met in 2010 on the set of her music video for Waka Waka (This Time For Africa), the World Cup song for 2010.

Shakira has now revealed that at the time, though she was still with Argentinian lawyer Antonio de la Rua, Pique told her that by the time the 2014 World Cup rolled around, they would be together, and parents to a child.

Shakira and de la Rua announced their split in January 2011, saying they had actually ended things in August 2010. She announced she and Pique were dating in March 2011, by posting a photo on her Facebook page of the two together, with the caption "I present to you my sunshine" in Spanish.

Pique further proved to be right with his prediction, as the 37-year-old songstress announce she was pregnant with his child in September 2012. Their son, Milan Pique Meberak was born on January 22, 2013 in Barcelona, where the family lives.

Shakira is also returning to the World Cup, providing the official song for the event once more, this time titled La La La.

Pique and his team will face off against The Netherlands June 13, Chile on June 18 and Australia on June 23.
