The reasons behind Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice having a big production delay may have officially been revealed as a big picture Warner Bros. decision.

Emily Blunt Joining Batman vs. Superman?

Batman v Superman was delayed 10 months from its July 2015 release date to a May 6, 2016 release, and the reason might be because of various cameos being planned. Nikki Finke is reporting that Warner Bros. was still in negotiations with certain actors to play roles in Batman v Superman as well as future D.C. movies.

"If you were wondering why Batman v Superman was delayed, it wasn't the script or Ben Affleck or Jesse Eisenberg but with the fact that this pic will act as a launching pad for the Justice League," Finke reports, per a Warner Bros. source.

Commissioner Gordon Slated To Appear in Batman v Superman?

"Like Marvel's 'The Avengers', there will be cameos of superheroes for future installments. The cameos will include the already known Cyborg and Flash. Green Lantern . . . may be introduced. And Aquaman will be seen in the Justice League movie."

The report went on to say that the studio was not comfortable moving forward with production due to negotiating with certain actors for cameos and future films.

Warner Bros. is allegedly planning on rolling out a slew of movies in the D.C. Cinematic Universe in the time period of 2016-2018, according to Finke. Among them are Batman v Superman in May 2016, Shazam in July 2016, Sandman in December 2016, Justice League in May 2017, Wonder Woman in July 2017, Flash/Green Lantern in December 2017 and finally Man of Steel 2 in May 2018.
