Despite divorce rumors, Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi certainly have one person in their corner: DeGeneres' dad! A new report claims that DeGeneres' father Elliot DeGeneres has given the marriage his seal of approval.

$40 Million Dollar Home For Ellen And Portia?

In her 2000 book, Ellen's mom Betty wrote that Elliot had kicked the talk show host out of his house when she came out as gay. Despite that, Elliot has said that he loves his daughter "very, very, very much" and certainly approved of her marriage to de Rossi.

"Portia's so wonderful. She's very kind and beautiful and generous. She's just perfection... you can't improve on perfection," Ellen's step-mom Virginia said. "We went to the wedding! It was sublime, spectacular. But it was also very private and beautiful."

Ellen And Portia's Big Summer Plans!

There were reports that children were a main sticking point between Ellen and de Rossi and that was a reason for the rumored friction. De Rossi reportedly wanted kids, while Ellen didn't. After the Ellen host said yes to her wife, she then reportedly changed her mind, prompting de Rossi to walk out of their house.

DeGeneres' step-mom, however, doesn't expect the couple to have children, at all. "I mean, who's going to start having children at 56?" she said. Because of all the divorce rumors, the couple is reportedly looking to renew their vows in August of 2014. "[They] are looking to do something on or around August 16, their sixth wedding anniversary, in Portia's home country of Australia. They want it to be in Sydney because the city has a big gay population, and they want to help spur the acceptance of same-sex marriage."
