While some have considered Juan Pablo Galavis the most disappointing Bachelor to ever star on the ABC series, there is one ABC alum coming to his defense: Trista Sutter.

In a June 13 interview with Access Hollywood, Sutter explained that she believed critics and audiences treated Galavis unfairly.

"I know that he's a good guy at heart, because of people that I know through the show," said Sutter. "I think that, personally, a lot of it has to do with the language barrier. I think that he would say certain things and they came across a certain way and he wasn't intending them to be taken the way they were."

Sutter, who was featured as a contestant on the first season of The Bachelor and then as the star of The Bachelorette's first season, might have a point.

The most notorious conversational incident for Galavis was when he tried to tell former Bachelor contestant and current Bachelorette star Andi Dorfman that everything was "okay." Shortly following the argument, Dorfman left the series.

Galavis also made waves telling current girlfriend Nikki Ferrell that he "likes her a lot" when giving her the final rose on the series, but refusing to say that he loved her.

Galavis, who already has a young child, claims that he wants to take things slowly and make sure Ferrell is the right woman.

The Bachelor star and Ferrell are rumored to be appearing on VH1's Couples Therapy this fall.
