As Sons of Anarchy begins filming its seventh and final season, one of the show's main stars has shared a photo of herself in character on the set.

Katey Sagal, who plays the polarizing Gemma on Sons of Anarchy, posted a photo of herself on the set on Twitter Tuesday. In the photo, Sagal appears as Gemma wearing a pair of stylish sunglasses and carrying what appears to be an iPad Mini.

Most intriguingly, she is standing next to a sheriff, suggesting that she is involved in something. Assuming it was from the same scene as Charlie Hunnam filming scenes as Jax in prison, this could just mean that she is visiting her son.

"Who's counting down to #SOAfx? Here's your first look at season 7 Gemma. #Samcro," Sagal tweeted, linking to the photo.

Gemma was last seen in the Season 6 finale brutally killing Tara (Maggie Siff). With Siff now off the show, she said that she has some idea of what's coming next but nothing too specific.

"[Showrunner] Kurt [Sutter] and I had talked about what was happening, and he sort of told me some ideas he had about what this season would look like," Siff explained to Entertainment Weekly. "But I don't want to read scripts. I want to see it with everybody else. I'm excited. It's going to be weird and kind of great to just watch it on television."

Sons of Anarchy Season 7 premieres in fall 2014 on FX, though the network has not yet announced a specific air date. It will likely be returning in September, assuming it goes by the same schedule as previous seasons.
