While there were initial concerns from Boy Meets World fans that the Disney spin-off would not live up to the original, it is looking like the Girl Meets World will have a strong fan base of twenty-somethings who grow up watching the beloved ABC sitcom during the '90s.

"It's interesting," said actor Ben Savage in a recent interview, "Most of our [Girl Meets World live studio] audience...are people who grew up with us." He then jokingly added that their audience is composed of fans in their mid-20s pushing 11-year-olds out of the way.

"We have very committed and passionate fans," continued Savage, "And we like having them."

Girl Meets World Bridging The Gap Between Old And New Audiences?

The enthusiasm of the "millennials" has not seemed to diminish as the Girl Meets World premiere nears this month.

At Book Expo America on Saturday, May 31, nearly just as many twenty-somethings flocked in line to meet Boy Meets World's Danielle Fishel as they did to attend SNL and Parks and Recreation star Amy Poehler's talk.

The open invitation for actors from the original series to make appearances on the new show have also inspired more confidence amongst early fans.

The Disney Channel's Girl Meets World will follow Cory Matthews (Savage) and Topanga Lawrence (Fishel) as they navigate the difficult roads of parenthood, while their children in turn learn what it really means to grow up.

The series premiere airs on the Disney Channel June 27.
