The Pretty Little Liars are settling back into Rosewood following their Big Apple adventure, and Alison will have to face her family - and her schoolmates.

Alison Has Rocky Return To Rosewood In 'Whirly Girl' Sneak Peeks, Closes Police Case

Until the end of season 4, Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse) was only seen in flashbacks. While these snippets did little to paint the teen is a positive light, showrunner Marlene King believes that viewers will come to see the character in a new light as she assimilates back into the Rosewood world.

"I think the Ali we know, we got to know in flashbacks. That's sort of an exaggerated version of how they saw her. We only saw the negative," King explained to Vulture. "So now that she's alive and back, it'll be interesting to see [what happens with] having her come back to Rosewood, having her come back to the town."

Although Mrs. DeLaurentis is dead, Ali will have no shortage of new and familiar characters to deal with.

"Every actor on this show is dying to have a scene with her," King explained. "[There's an] Ali/Caleb scene; those are two characters have never met. We're having her have scenes with the parents, and her own father. And she goes back to school. Ali going back to Rosewood High is just huge. Everything she does is a new experience for us. Because everything but the Halloween episode is entirely flashbacks."
