Production on Season 4 of Homeland has officially begun, and new photos on the set of the show have been released that reveal two of the show's main stars.

Homeland Showrunner "Hopes" Dana Brody Will Be Back In the Future?

Claire Danes is shown likely in character as Carrie Mathison on the set of Homeland in new photos from the set in Cape Town, South Africa, released Thursday. She is carrying a large bag in a location that is doubling as Benazir Bhutto International Airport terminal.

Standing next to her is Rupert Friend, who plays Quinn in the series, wearing a suit. This likely means that Carrie and Quinn are aligned in some way in the new season.

Afghanistan Official "Clashes" With Carrie In Homeland Season 4?

Going into Season 4 of Homeland, there will be some overhaul as the entire Brody family will essentially not be present at all. Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis), a leading character in the show's first two seasons, died in the Season 3 finale by public hanging in Iran.

In Season 4, there will be many new actors coming to the show. Among them is Corey Stoll (House of Cards), who is playing Sandy Bachman, CIA Chief of Station of Afghanistan. Actress Laila Robins is signing on as a series regular to play Martha Boyd, the U.S. Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Life of Pi star Suraj Sharma is slated to appear as a medical student who "crosses paths with Carrie."

Homeland Season 4 premieres in fall 2014 on Showtime, though the network has not made an official announcement on a premiere date yet. It will likely return in September in its regular Sundays at 9 p.m. timeslot.
