On June 17, the first premiere event for Transformers 4: Age of Extinction took place in Hong Kong.

'Robots' Will 'Have More Character' & Hound's 'Got Every Gun Known To Mankind?'

The red carpet was laid out as the start of the film, Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor and Nicola Peltz dazzled fans and Imagine Dragons debuted Battle Cry, the theme song for the movie, live. A massive figure of Optimus Prime was propped up at the location, with the Hong Kong skyline in the back drop.

All manner of promotion took place over the past few weeks for the movie and Optimus Prime has been a very integral part of the activities.

New TV Spots Feature Striking Action Sequences & Better Look At Villains?

Uber, the new cab service app that has become the new rage in the country, revealed that for Transformers fans living in Dallas, Phoenix and Los Angeles, were in for a treat. The official website announced that if in luck, callers would get a ride in Optimus Prime's vehicular form.

In fact, recently there was another pretty exciting promotional event relating to Optimus Prime that was brought out.

The official Facebook page of the movie stated that Optimus Prime will "read your tweet." Peter Cullen is the voice of Optimus Prime in the movie, so most are assuming that he will be reading and responding to the tweets.

Cullen has been voicing the character for over 3 decades now, starting with the Transformers cartoons in the Eighties.

Interestingly, Michael Bay has been suggesting that Age of Extinction will give a fresh start to the series and that Optimus Prime will also be undergoing some changes as he starts to lose faith in the goodness of mankind. But in a recent interview Cullen auggested that even faced with these challenges Optimus Prime will stay strong and his most valuable traits will endure.

"He is exactly who he was from the very original concept," Cullen said. "I've always felt a hero should have the qualities that are inspiring and helpful and fatherly and at the same time (be) courageous. I don't see those character traits changing at all."

Transformers: Age of Extinction will hit theaters on June 27, 2014.
