Glee star Jane Lynch recently revealed what she knows about the upcoming sixth and final season of the show, adding to rumors that the series would be going back to McKinley High for the final episodes.

Jane Lynch Starting "The Mourning Process" for Glee's Final Season?

Lynch, who plays Sue Sylvester on the series, spoke with The Associated Press about Glee, which has recently turned into a New York-centric show. Despite this transition, Lynch seems to believe that the show will transfer back to Lima, Ohio, the original location of the series.

"We're going into a sixth season," Lynch said. "I think it's going to be half a season. I think we're going back to McKinley High. I think. I don't know any of this for sure. But that's the word on the street."

NeNe Leakes Unsure About Returning to Glee?

As far as Lynch's "half a season" comment, this could be in reference to the recent rumors that the final season would only be 13 episodes. Glee aired 22 episodes in each of the show's fourth season but Fox ordered for shorter run in Season 5, which was cut from 22 episodes down to 20.

Lynch also discussed her thoughts on Glee's impact since premiering in 2009.

"I don't think you can underestimate truly how powerful this show has been and will continue to be: It's the place where you can go where you're celebrated for who you are," she said. "It's this safe refuge for kids. That's what we're all looking for. We're still in high school, a lot of us."

Glee Season 6 does not have an expected premiere date yet, though it was left off Fox's fall 2014 schedule. Therefore it will likely premiere in Spring 2015.
