Frank Ocean will perform as the musical guest on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" Monday night.

Ocean will perform tonight on the heels of the announcement of his new album "Channel Orange," due July 17, in which he came out of the closet.

In the album Ocean refers to his love interest as "him" rather than "her." Because of his influence, many wonder how he could change the anti-gay sentiments in the rap and hip-hop world.

His new album has received positive reviews so far.

"Channel Orange, his beautiful first full-length studio album, will be released this month, and it's rife with the sting of unrequited love, both on the receiving and inflicting ends. Mr. Ocean, 24, is an extremely unflashy songwriter, avoiding big proclamations and broad brush strokes, instead leaning on conversational gambits and the power of detail. He makes warm, cloudy soul with echoes of Stevie Wonder, Prince and Pharrell Williams..." wrote The New York Times.

"His official debut gives prominence to his songwriting prowess and sonic versatility, as he intertwines the parallel styles of soul, R&B, jazz and even a bit of funk. Ocean feeds his appetite for different sound types by focusing more on sonics than structure and lacing Channel Orange with a mixture of bass lines, electronic synths, keys and flowing melodies. And don't forget: this is Frank's debut album," according to a review published by Billboard.

Ocean's last year album "Nostalgia, ULTRA," earned critical acclaim.

"Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" airs at 12:35 a.m.
