Haven will be one character short when it returns to Syfy for a fifth season.

CDC Scientist Uncovers Genetic Marker For The Troubles On 'Haven', Is There A Medical Cure?

Jennifer Mason was close to death when the series concluded season 4, and it looks like the Boston transplant may succumb to her injuries by time the premiere rolls around. Or, the youngster will wise up and get out of the supernaturally afflicted town while she still has the chance.

Either way, Lahana will not be resuming her role alongside Eric Balfour (Duke), Emily Rose (Audrey), and Lucas Bryant (Nathan).

Mystery Of The Rings To Be Solved On 'Haven'? Audrey Parker & Nathan Wuornos' Bands To Play Major Role In New Season?

"[Eric Balfour] I miss u bud" Lahana tweeted on Thursday in response to a message from her former co-star. "If I could have come back and worked with just the cast and crew who are amazing woulda been a different story ;)"

Balfour, whose character had become quite close to Jennifer (see video below), then took a moment to explain to fans why the New Zealand native had to depart the series.

"Hey nobody is more bummed about [Lahana] not wanting 2 return 2 the show than me but she had 2 do what was best 4 her & her family," Balfour tweeted.

Although Jennifer has left the building, Haven has picked up the new character of Dr. Erin Reid (Laura Mennell) - a CDC scientist who stumbles across a genetic marker shared by all Troubled people.
