At least one of the original members of an entourage of South Floridian strippers may not be returning for the Magic Mike sequel.

Matthew McConaughey, who starred in the first film as often shirtless strip club owner Dallas, may not be returning for Magic Mike: XXL, according to co-star Gabriel Iglesias, who portrayed the strip club DJ and a drug dealer in the film.

"Word has it that Matthew is probably not going to be involved in this one," Iglesias said in an interview with Dish Nation on June 19.

"...He's worth a lot of money," Iglesias added with a laugh. "That whole Oscar thing, the nerve right?"

Iglesias' statement implies that McConaughey has no interest in returning to the film unless he can earn the kind of money he feels he is worth, coming off of his Best Actor Oscar Win this year for Dallas Buyers Club.

However, McConaughey's return may not be because of a pay dispute at all, because the film's premise is reportedly set to be a road trip-meaning the action wouldn't be centered at his character's strip club. Unless the character is written in to be included in the travel plans for the film, there doesn't appear to be a need for him in the film.

"All they're telling me-because they haven't shown me the whole script yet-is that they're taking the show on the road...so something tells me it's not going to be shot in Florida like the last one," Iglesias said.

Magic Mike XXL is expected to hit theaters July 3, 2015.
