'Boy Meets World' Original Characters Set To Return For Disney Channel Spin-Off

Girl Meets World is a spin-off from the 1990s ABC comedy Boy Meets World. While the ABC series followed a young Cory Matthews (Ben Savage), Shawn Hunter (Ryder Strong) Topanga Lawrence (Danielle Fishel), Girl Meets World will follow Cory and Topanga as adults raising their 12-year-old daughter Riley (Rowan Blanchard), along with her friends Maya (Sabrina Carpenter), Farkle (Corey Fogelmanis), and Lucas (Peyton Meyer).

During the interview, Kelley asked Peyton Meyer if the budding romance between his and Blanchard's character is laying the groundwork for them to become "new Cory and Topanga."

The seemingly easy-going Meyer had a few words on the subject. "They have a little connection going," he admitted. As to whether or not the young pair will become the "new Cory and Topanga," he admitted that nothing is certain.

"No one can really live up to Cory and Topanga, but we're trying to carve our own path and see if people like it."

Girl Meets World premieres on Disney Channel June 27, 2014.
