New details have come out surrounding Survivor: Blood vs. Water contestant Caleb Bankston's death, including how the railway accident went down.

'Survivor' Season 29 Going Back To Nicaragua

Bankston died Tuesday while working at his job for the Alabama Warrior Railway, causing shockwaves in the Survivor community. The 26-year-old competed on Survivor: Blood vs. Water with his fiancé Colton Cumbie where he placed in ninth. While much of the information surrounding his death was unconfirmed, new information from the coroner's report.

A Jefferson County coroner is saying that Bankston had been standing on the ladder on the rear car of a freight train that was loaded. An engineer backed up, causing the car to derail and throwing him onto the train tracks where he was pronounced dead.

Survivor is currently on location as they film the next season of the show, Survivor: San Juan del Sur. Host Jeff Probst made a statement to People about the shocking news.

"The entire Survivor crew is together in Nicaragua," he said. "We are shocked and deeply saddened by the loss of Caleb. He was one of the most humble and likable contestants we have ever had the pleasure of working with on the show. A true gentleman. He will be missed by so many. We extend our most sincere condolences to his family and to his fiancé, Colton."

Bankston is the third Survivor contestant to have died, following Survivor: Palau contestant Jenn Lyon, who died of breast cancer at the age of 37 in 2010 and original Survivor contestant B.B. Andersen, who died at 77 from brain cancer in 2013.
