After news came out that America's Next Top Model contestant Yaya Dacosta would be playing Whitney Houston in a new film, Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina is slamming the movie and director.

Lifetime Film With Yaya Dacosta Continuing Despite Family Objections

On June 9, it was announced that Dacosta was cast in the Lifetime film set to be directed by actress Angela Bassett. But, on June 28, Bobbi Kristina slammed the director for the upcoming film.

"Ha MsAng "bassketcase" has such a damn nerve my lord, at least the world doesn't mistake me for the wrong sex...she has some #XtraEquipment." Bobbi Kristina wrote. "When I win my first Grammy or Oscar, *Shrugs* hmm whichever comes 1st, I'll be sure 2shout URname out b----! Hah UrTestResults = Male. Lmao."

Bassett starred with Houston in the film Waiting to Exhale. Bassett had admitted recently to Entertainment Weekly that the family was not participating in the movie.

"We reached out to them in the early days; of course we're not going to do the movie and not say anything to them. You can if you're using public domain, but that's not our desire," Bassett said. "We paid our respects and let the conversation be had, just to get their okay. They certainly could have been not involved and against it."

There were rumors that Bobbi Kristina wanted to play her mother instead of Dacosta, but Bassett said casting her was never on her radar. "No, I did not think about that," the director said. "I did not think about casting her. And probably for a number of reasons, you know. One being that she's not an actress. I know she's acted here and there. I know she's been on their family's reality show, but she's not an actress and acting is a craft."

Bassett acknowledged that casting for a legend like Houston wasn't easy, but that the former ANTM contestant was her only choice. "Yaya was far and above the only choice, you know."
