The Supernatural cast is inching ever closer to the start of season 10, but there are a few tasks that still need to be completed before filming can begin on the premiere.

With barely a week to go before Jensen Ackles (Dean), Jared Padalecki (Sam), and Misha Collins (Castiel) step in front of the camera once more, producers are busy casting an unnamed character for the season 10 opener.

"The folks at Post Production are back, we've got our first casting session today," tweeted writer John Bring on Tuesday. "It's like we're making a TV show or something."

Meanwhile, the season's first director is busy scouting locations and meeting with the show's producers.

"EPICsode 1001 Concept Meeting starts in 5 Minutes," tweeted location manger Russ Hamilton at the end of June, adding "[and then] we take our Director out surveying potential Locations...s--t's about to get real real."

When supernatural returns this fall, Sam will have his hands full trying to find a cure for Cas' dying grace and a remedy for Dean's current demon situation.
