With talk of a smaller role for Iron Man in the new Avengers film and actor Robert Downey Jr.'s personal issues, a new Iron Man 4 film is looking less likely by the day.

Was Robert Downey, Jr. Not First Choice For Iron Man?

Downey Jr.'s son Indio was recently arrested for drug possession. TMZ reported that Indio was arrested for cocaine possession in West Hollywood last weekend. Indio was in the passenger seat of a car when the cops noticed he was smoking something out of a pipe. They searched the car and reportedly found cocaine on Indio. He was then arrested and charged.

Downey Jr. released a statement shortly afterwards about his 20-year-old son.

Is The Hulk Getting A Solo Film?

"Unfortunately there's a genetic component to addiction and Indio has likely inherited it. Also, there is a lot of family support and understanding, and we're all determined to rally behind him and help him become the man he's capable of being," Downey Jr. said. "We're grateful to the Sheriff's department for their intervention, and believe Indio can be another recovery success story instead of a cautionary tale."

Recent reports speculated that Downey Jr. had a smaller role in the new Avengers film because he had just confirmed he was done shooting even though the film was only halfway done. On June 18, Downey Jr. confirmed he had finished with the second Avengers film. "I've been unemployed for 2 days and require excitement. Time to start posting! Check in tomorrow--my followers get first dibs."

A report speculated that Iron Man either isn't in the film as much or that director Joss Whedon just shot Downey Jr.'s scenes first to free him up for other endeavors or for personal reasons, like to help his son Indio with his drug addiction.
