One of the more memorable new characters from Season 2 of Orange is the New Black will return for the show's third season, and possibly with a new friend.

Kimiko Glenn, who plays the perky yet relatively annoying Brook Soso in the second season of Orange is the New Black, recently spoke with The Wall Street Journal about her character.

Asked what she wants to happen to Soso in the third season of the prison "dramedy," she just hopes that she gets a friend in Litchfield.

"To be honest I just want her to have a friend, someone to talk to," she said. "Someone who understands her and doesn't just shoot her down every time she talks - I think that's my main hope."

Soso did not receive a flashback episode in Season 2, but it's possible that there will be one in Season 3. Glenn was asked if she crafted a backstory for herself to help play the character.

"I'm used to doing theater so normally it's like the script with a beginning and an end so you know where it's going. With TV you are getting a new script every week and you don't know what the plans are and they don't tell you and you can't prepare really," she explained. "I tried to kind of do something of that sort like make up like why she's there or what the relationship with Meadow is. But in the end, it ended up to be kind of pointless because I would always be wrong. It's such great writing... I think that's the beauty of it."

Very few details are known about the third season of Orange is the New Black, though it was recently announced that Oscar-winning actress Mary Steenburgen would be playing the mother of "Pornstache" (Pablo Schreiber). Additionally, some of the show's recurring actresses are being bumped up to series regulars: Yael Stone (Morello), Samira Wiley (Poussey), Dascha Polanco (Daya), Selenis Leyva (Gloria), Adrienne C. Moore (Black Cindy) and Nick Sandow (Caputo).

Orange is the New Black Season 3 does not have a specific release date yet, but it will likely be returning in Summer 2015 on Netflix. Seasons 1 and 2 are currently available for streaming on the site in their entirety.
