"The first time I played a club, my first year of college, I took my high school ring and pawned it and bought a guitar," the singer said.

The musician's dedication didn't end there. Now that he had the guitar in his hands, he had to make good use of it. "I learned how to play fifty songs over that summer [in college]," he added, "And started playing for tips at the end of that summer, and I was hooked from then on".

McGraw certainly was "hooked," having made a sizable name for himself in the industry over the last 25 years. "I knew that's [music] what I wanted to do," said McGraw.

Today, McGraw is a leading name in country music and is married to superstar singer Faith Hill. The pair have three daughters and recently collaborated on the song Meanwhile Back at Mama's, which will be featured on McGraw's new album Sundown Heaven Town. The music video for the song was also filmed in their real-life home.

McGraw hits the road for the Sundown Heaven Town tour July 11, starting with a show in Florida. The album is set to be released Sept. 16, 2014.
