NCIS: Los Angeles won't resume filming until August, but the CBS drama already has a slate of directors set for season 6.

Executive producer John Peter Kousakis will find himself behind the camera for the first episode to film while Diana Valentine will take on the third of the year.

"S6 production begins in 1 month," Kousakis explained on Saturday. "[Kousakis] directs EP 601! [Valentine] directs EP.603 Do not have airing order yet. #staytuned.

Fans should keep in mind that just because Kousakis is helming the first episode to shoot, that does not mean that 601 is the premiere. Instead, the series got a jump on production for the upcoming season by filming the premiere and an untitled episode before closing up shop on season 5 last spring.

While NCIS and NCIS: LA veteran Dennis smith tackled the premiere earlier this year, Chris O'Donnell (Callen) also took a spin in the director's chair for and upcoming episode.

When NCIS: LA does return from the summer hiatus, Sam (LL Cool J) and Callen will be in dire straits. Trapped in a bomb-laden submarine with a few trigger-happy terrorists, the duo will kick off season 6 with quite a harrowing episode.
