Jessica Simpson went for a classic look as she tied the knot to Eric Johnson over the weekend. The singer-turned-fashion designer wore a custom Carolina Herrera wedding gown with a floor-length veil.

Jessica Simpson Wears No Makeup On A Date Night  

"The whole dress is embroidered in gold and feels very regal," Herrera told People magazine about the gown. The fashion designer added that she hoped to turn the mother of two into a "beautiful golden girl."

The official sketch of the gown posted by the magazine reveals a strapless, puffy and tulle dress. The first wedding photo of Simpson also shows her wearing elegant makeup and Neil Lane diamond earrings.

In addition, Herrera played with the longtime wedding tradition that states a bride should have "something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue" on the big day by adding a blue ribbon inside of the dress. "I always do that because I think it brings good luck," she told the magazine.

After four years of dating, Simpson and the former NFL player wed at the San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, Calif. on Saturday in front 250 guests, including sister Ashlee Simpson and fiancé Evan Ross, best friend CaCee Cobb with hubby Donald Faison as well as actress Jessica Alba and her husband Cash Warren. E! News reported that Johnson "choked up" while saying his vows and Simpson flubbed her own.

"We are overwhelmed with complete happiness and love having made our eternal commitment," the newlyweds told People. "To say 'I do' in front of family, friends and, most importantly, our children has been the happiest moment of our lives."
