Amanda Knox may be forced to go back to Italy after all and face the judge for herself when her appeals case in the murder of Meredith Kercher begins.

Raffaele Sollecito Says He Is 'Guilty By Association?

The 26-year-old American student, who was convicted of her roommate's 2007 murder for the second time earlier this year, has said she wouldn't willingly go back to Italy to serve any sentence handed down to her, but a new report indicates that prosecutors are ensuring she will pay for her crimes if her conviction is not overturned, by forcing her extradition to the country for a separate drug charge.

According to The Daily Mail, prosecutors are reportedly trying to use information they claim links Knox to an Italian drug dealer, including numbers on her mobile phone which helped police discover a ring in the Perugia area.

Knox doesn't appear too worried about the threat of extradition however, as she was spotted still walking around in Seattle, Wash. on July 6, as she looked to be waiting for someone to meet her for an outing.

Though the threat of drug charges and extradition may not be a worry, the accused murderer has had to deal with somewhat of a reversal by her co-defendant, ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito.

In a press conference with his attorneys in Rome on July 1, Sollecito added new claims that his former girlfriend was not with him the entire night of Kercher's murder, destroying her alibi that she had been at his apartment the entire time.

"Only a madman or a criminal would change versions, and I'm neither mad nor criminal," he said at the conference. "There's proof that I was at my place and I was watching Japanese cartoons."

However, though he has amended the one-time shared alibi, Sollecito did maintain he believed Knox was innocent, despite anomalies with how she acted the night of the murder.

"I always believed, and still believe, that Amanda Marie Knox is innocent," he said.

Knox, Sollecito, and a third man, Rudy Guede were all arrested in connection to Kercher's murder back in 2007. Guede has been serving a 16-year prison sentence in Italy, though Knox and Sollecito both pleaded not guilty and were later acquitted in 2011.

However, a new trial reportedly focused on DNA evidence concluded this January with a second guilty verdict for the pair. Sollecito was sentenced to 25 years in Prison, while Knox received 28.

The two are currently preparing their final chances to appeal, with cases scheduled to be heard either later this year or in early 2015.
