On Monday, Radar Online reports that de Rossi revealed she had liver damage before going to rehab. De Rossi has admitted a long battle with anorexia, including talking about it in her memoir Unbearable Lightness. According to Radar, due to her eating disorder, doctors diagnosed de Rossi with osteoporosis and cirrhosis of the liver in 2001.

"Cirrhosis is a slowly progressing disease in which healthy liver tissue is replaced with scar tissue, eventually preventing the liver from functioning properly," Dr. Jake Deutsch, Medical Director and Founder of CURE Urgent Care, told the website. Dr. Deutsch has not treated de Rossi.

In Touch Weekly reported last week that de Rossi entered Rossi entered the Passages Malibu rehab facility in early May 2014 for a 30-day treatment.

"Portia hadn't been happy for a while and was drinking and isolating, and Ellen confronted her," a source told the magazine. "Portia lost it and blamed Ellen for driving her to drink because of her controlling ways and said she wasn't in love with her anymore. Ellen was crushed and screamed at Portia to get out."

Although there has been no confirmation from the couple on why de Rossi entered Passages Malibu exactly, the facility told Page Six that "the primary issue has to be a substance abuse issue, because that's what we're licensed as."
