Carrie Underwood's new album doesn't have a title or a release date yet, but the country singer promises that her latest work will show a "progression" of herself as an artist.

Singer Carrie Underwood Joins Global Citizen Festival This Fall

Underwood first announced her plans for a fifth album at a fan club party at the Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday June 3rd, which was also the day pal Miranda Lambert released her latest album, Platinum.

Underwood is scheduled to return to the Grande Old Opry to perform on July 25th. The singer could take this opportunity to reveal more information about the album. Underwood is a known fan of the venue and offered her first album news there last month, which could indicate that more news is coming up at the end of July.

Carrie Underwood Pregnancy Rumors

In The Hollywood Reporter last week, the country music star called her latest album a "progression" from previous work. "It's...a different sound without losing myself in it," she explained, noting a number of times that the music would be "different" while at the same time true to who she is as a person.

Underwood's last album, Blown Away, came out in 2012. It immediately shot straight to the top of the charts and this next album is likely to do the same.

While the singer has not released her own new material in two years, she most recently sang a duet with Lambert for Somethin' Bad for Platinum. The pair performed the hit at a number of award shows earlier this year.
