Glee will officially have a shortened run of episodes for its upcoming sixth and final season.

Naya Rivera Returning As 'Recurring Guest Star' For Final Season in Glee

The final season of Glee will only have 13 episodes as opposed to the usual 20-22 episodes, according to a new report by TVLine. This shortened run had been rumored for a few months and could possibly be due to declining ratings for the musical series.

The series will be airing all 13 episodes without reruns, though it is not known exactly when the sixth season will premiere just yet.

Glee Final Season Focused On 'Arts In School' As Show Returns To Lima

As the TVLine report notes, Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly had sat down with Glee creator Ryan Murphy and company about how to end the show.

"We're going to sit down and talk about how to end the show and how many that is," Reilly said in May.

Glee's first four seasons had 22 episodes each but the recently-ended fifth season had its episodes count cut down from 22 to 20.

Fox just announced its Fall 2014 TV schedule and Glee was missing from the list. It is reportedly being held for midseason, likely to air in between the months of January and May.

News of Glee's shortened final season comes in the days after the show's cast has been dealing with hackers. Chris Colfer, who plays Kurt Hummel on the series, had his Twitter account hacked last week, which was good news to fans considering the hacker tweeted about him being "let go" from Glee. Lea Michele, who plays Rachel Berry, dealt with her own hacker who announced that she was pregnant, which is untrue.
