It looks as though Leah Remini might be making a comeback onto the small screen after all. Rumor has it that the actress is being shortlisted as a possible candidate to replace Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd on The View.

Remini, who was fired from The Talk along with Holly Robinson Peete back in 2011, is said to be a strong contender for the show, although it is uncertain if she'll be hired by the ABC network.

"Leah Remini has been on a short list of celebs to join The View," a source tells HollywoodLife.com. "However, she is not on the top of the list. The search is still on and they hope to have more names later this summer."

Former The View co-host Rosie O'Donnell is also making a comeback on the show, as the talk show made the announcement on their Twitter account.

"They have an idea of the direction they want to pursue but it is still up for grabs for someone new and fresh to be on the show," the source continued. "Discussions are ongoing and intense. They focused a lot of their attention on getting Rosie back, so now they have more time to look elsewhere now that she has joined. They want to complete the process sooner than later."

The View is looking for two replacements in total after Shepherd and McCarthy's departures along with Barbara Walter's retirement earlier this year as well.
