The NCIS crew will start filming the new season next week and Michael Weatherly (Tony DiNozzo) already teased fans via social media.

"Season 12: DiNozzo finally gets his act together? One week until filming starts and I am... excited!" he tweeted along with a photo of himself smiling.

Many fans quickly responded to the 46-year-old actor writing, "Can't wait for Season 12" and "I'll take bets you're not as excited as we your fans are."

Weatherly also gave a little insight into next season via social media in June. He posted another photo of himself with the caption, "Looking at season 12... With clear eyed optimism. Prediction: outside the box #12."

The aforementioned tweet received many responses from fans, including one who mentioned Cote de Pablo's character Ziva David. "My prediction is that ziva should come back," the fan wrote. 

Since Ziva emotionally left the show back in October, many fans expressed their desire to bring her back. However, the show's executive producer, Gary Glasberg, hinted that Tony may find a new love interest in the future.

"I don't think his next relationship is going to happen anytime soon," Glasberg told TVLine in January. "Part of letting Tony be Tony and letting him be flirtatious and talk to women is that these women don't really matter. They're quick encounters that he's having; it's not Ziva. They're not ones that count. Eventually, will there be another [great love]? Maybe."
