Miley Cyrus Engagement, Gets Sex Advice From Mom

Since the Miley Cyrus engagement was announced, the star has become more open about her relationship to Liam Hemsworth. Miley admits that she gets relationship and sex advice from her mom, Tish Cyrus. While most teenagers shy away from this kind of openness, the young star confessed to InStyle Germany, that she even shares too much information.

"A lot of parents don't know what their kids are up to or the kids find it embarrassing to talk with their parents about sex," Miley explained. "I have always told my mom everything, sometimes even more than she wanted to know." 

"She gave me some good advice in terms of contraception, which helped me a lot," she continued to say to the publication.

The singer/actress met Hemsworth, 22, on the set of the 2010 film, The Last Song. Hemsworth was an unknown actor at the time. 

But now, the Hunger Games star has become a household name for his role in the new franchise films and Cyrus is happy for his recent success. 

"I am very happy that he is so successful with The Hunger Games," Cyrus said to InStyle.

"I think, it is good for him if he is not only seen as 'the boyfriend of Miley Cyrus' all the time. It can only be beneficial for our relationship as we are on the same level now." 

Her engagement to Hemsworth received mixed reviews. Many wonder whether the 19 year-old star is too young to commit to marriage and whether or not she is making a mistake.  

However, Cyrus and the family are delighted for the new marriage.

"I'm so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam," Cyrus said to People Magazine. 

"All I ever hoped for as a daddy was to see my kids reach their dreams," tweeted her father, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus. "To find happiness...peace of mind...and someday know...true love."

Hemsworth proposed on May 31 with a 3.5-carat diamond in 18-karat gold with carved diamond floral motifs in an art nouveau pattern, according to Neil Lane Jewelry in Los Angeles. The central stone goes back to the 19th century.  

Hemsworth is currently working on his latest film: "Empire State," in New Orleans. And Cyrus is working on her next album. The artist recently released a single with Rock Mafia called: "Morning Sun."
