Things Don't End Well At Rosie And Spence's Wedding?

Lifetime has yet to confirm if the series would be back for a third season, and ratings have not been the strongest indicator of whether or not the series would return. According to Hypable, the premiere started strong with 1.96 million viewers, but the rest of the season attracted a lower number of average viewers between 1.5 and 1.7 million.

While the numbers are respectable, they are lower than the highs of season 1, which saw 2.52 million and nearly 3 million viewers in the penultimate and finale episodes. However, this season, the show was featured opposite other top-rated cable programs all season in its 10 p.m. timeslot.

'Devious Maids' A 'Guilty Pleasure?'

Earlier in the season it was beat by shows including HBO's Silicon Valley, AMC's Mad Men, Real Housewives of Atlanta and Real Housewives of New Jersey. The second half of the season also saw it face stiff competition from Adult Swim's Bob's Burgers, TLC's Return to Amish, TNT's Falling Skies, Discovery's Naked and Afraid and HBO's The Leftovers.

If the cast of the show has any say in the show's future however, it will certainly be renewed for a third season, because it has helped showcase strong Latina characters in a different light, star Ana Ortiz recently admitted to The Associated Press.

Ortiz spoke about how despite the initial criticisms the show has for showcasing Latina characters as the domestic help, they have risen above that and all five leads are now nominated for Imagen Awards for their positive portrayals of the characters.

"...to have these nominations from the Imagens, it is such a beautiful full-circle moment," Ortiz said. "I'm so proud for all the girls. And I'm really proud of the show."
