There's a good chance that the characters on The Walking Dead will change in ways that no one has seen before, which could end with drastic results.

Season 5 Premiere Will Be 'So Flippin' Cool,' According To Actress

On Tuesday, E! News updated its spoiler chat where Steven Yeun (Glenn) unleashed a tease about the characters and if they'll stay true to themselves or not.

"It's a different reality that they find themselves in," Yeun said. "It's the decision to remain in humanity or completely let go and be a savage, that's kind of the question that's on every characters' mind and it's up to them to decide where they go."

Season 5 To Have A 'New Story?'

According to showrunner Scott M. Gimple, the new season will have some connections to the comic book, and could take on a whole new approach as published in Collider.

"It's not mirroring [the previous season] completely...the challenge of the show is every eight episodes, it's a whole new show," Gimple said. "I will say that there may be some slightly familiar structural turns. But for the most part, it is going to be brand new versions of the comic story."

The showrunner went on about how the comics were fairly different from the fourth season as well as where his ideas came from.

"In the comics, there isn't as big of a group," Gimple said. "A lot fewer people made it out of the prison. We had this huge group to get back together and at the beginning of the year, I wanted to have a story for every character and to fulfill that story in the end."

The Walking Dead Season 5 is expected to premiere in October on AMC.
