American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy has revealed the first official photo of Sarah Paulson's two-headed character in Freak Show - though only from the back.

American Horror Story: Freak Show Will Be 'Unlike Anything' The Series Has Ever Done

Murphy tweeted a photo Thursday of a two-headed person (presumably played by Paulson) sitting in what appears to be a hospital bed, with everything in black and white. Along with the photo, Murphy wrote, "Dot and Bette's first day."

Paulson previously announced that she would be playing the two-headed Dot and Bette in American Horror Story: Freak Show, so this appears to be the public's first glimpse at the unique character.

Wes Bentley Cast As Tormentor Of Kathy Bates' Character in Freak Show

When Paulson first announced the news that she would be playing these two characters, she also tweeted a photo of herself with two heads, though this was ultimately attributed to an early design made to give producers an idea for what she would look like. Murphy's tweet is the first "real" photo of Dot and Bette.

Paulson's Dot and Bette character is one of many "freaks" slated to star in Season 4. Other American Horror Story regulars set to play "freaks" are Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Frances Conroy and Evan Peters. These characters are all owned by Jessica Lange's character. Lange's character owns one of the last remaining freak shows in America, with the time period being the 1950s.

Other American Horror Story regulars signed on for new roles include Emma Roberts, Gabourey Sidibe, Jamie Brewer and Denis O'Hare. Michael Chiklis is also set to star as the ex-husband of Bates' character and the father of Peters' character.

American Horror Story: Freak Show is slated to debut in October on FX, though the network has not yet announced a specific air date.
