The typically soft-spoken country singer Tim McGraw performed in Atlanta recently and halfway through the performance found himself in a rather uncomfortable situation.

Tim McGraw Pawned Possessions To Start Career

According to CMT Friday, McGraw had to defend himself against a fan who got a little too friendly during his July 13 performance.

While initial reports suggested that McGraw had been violent, new examinations of the video claim that the singer was merely trying to protect himself when a fan grabbed his leg during his performance of Truck Yeah. When the fan refused to let go of the singer's leg, McGraw "instinctively swatted" at the fan to let go in an attempt to keep his jeans from ripping onstage. He then continued to greet other fans at the end of the stage as he continued the number.

Faith Hill & Tim McGraw Divorce Rumors Surface

The fan was later removed from the concert by security without further incident.

This is not the first time McGraw has had problems with fan involvement during a show. In 2007 a fan reportedly grabbed at the singer's crotch. McGraw's wife, fellow country singer Faith Hill was performing with him at the time and stopped the show to inform the woman that the contact was inappropriate and that she should not be disrespecting another human being in that manner, especially in front of his wife.

McGraw and Hill, who remain happily married despite tabloid rumors, tied the knot back in 1996. The two have three daughters together and recently released the music video for their duet Meanwhile Back At Mama's.

McGraw will continue to tour this summer as he promotes his new album, Sundown Heaven Town.
