Steven Pasquale will be joining the cast of The Good Wife for season 6 and will be playing Alicia's (Julianna Margulies) campaign manager should she choose to run for State's Attorney.

An EW report dated July 18 revealed that Eli Gould (Alan Cumming) will be hiring the expert to help Alicia.

In an interview Margulies spoke about working on the CBS legal drama and gave hints relating to what fans can expect from her character in the next season, at a SAG Foundation panel on June 17.

Michael Ausiello of TVLine hosted the event and spoke to Margulies about the rewards and challenges of playing Alicia on the show. The finale of season 5 concluded with Eli Gould (Alan Cumming) proposing Alicia (Julianna Margulies) become a candidate for State's Attorney. A few other big changes were afoot, with Diane (Christine Baranski) deciding to join Florrick/Agos. The cliffhanger obviously had to do with the big decision Alicia will have to take now. When specifically asked by Ausiello about what she will do, Margulies seemed inclined to having Alicia take the challenge up.

"I want her to run. I think it would be so interesting if she ran. I actually asked Robert and Michelle, "If she ran what happens with Peter's endorsement? Is that legal?" And they had a great answer which was, "When Kennedy was President he brought his brother in. Anything's legal if you can do it," she said. "So I think it would set up a great story for Peter and Alicia and a great story for her professionally. I think it would be really fun. There's something sexy about politics, and it would be sort of a different... We're never going to top what we did [in Season 5]. So, my feeling is, the only way we can do it is to do it differently. To keep people interested we have to not try and top it but go out at a different angle."

The finale for season 2, titled A Weird Year, aired on May 18.
