As filming for Insidious 3 is now underway, fans are eager for any spoilers that might come their way and most recently director Leigh Whannell teased what they could expect from the third instalment in the indie-horror series.

On July 15, Whannell, jokingly stated that there will be a lot of shadows in the next movie.

"INSIDIOUS CHAPTER 3 SPOILER: There are lots of shadows," he tweeted.

Fast and Furious 7 Director "Turned Down" Insidious Chapter 3 But Might Direct The Fourth One? 

 Whannell wrote the first two chapters of the series and will now be helming the third, both writing and directing it.

James Wan, who just finished directing Fast and Furious 7, had directed the first two chapters in the series.

Dermot Mulroney and Stefanie Scott will be starring in Insidious 3.

Insidious: Chapter 2 was released on Sept. 13 and topped the U.S. box office scoring $41.1 million over in its opening weekend. The film stars Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Lin Shaye, Ty Simpkins, and Barbara Hershey reprised their roles from  the first film in the series. 

The first film followed the story of the haunted Lambert family, whose son inexiplicably enters a comatose state and becomes a vessel for demons. In Insidious: Chapter 2, the married couple try to explore the secrets that tie them to the paranormal world and the demons that possessed their son.

Entertainment One, FilmDistrict, and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions will be developing the third chapter of the micro-budgeted franchise. Blum (Blumhouse Productions) will be co-producing the third film with Oren Peli (Paranormal Activity). Steven Schneider, Brian Kavanaugh Jones, Peter Schlessel, Lia Buman and Xavier Marchand will come on board as executive producers.

Insidious 3 will release in April 2015.
