It looks as though the cast of Scandal is closer than previously thought -- at least off screen, that is. Apparently, Kerry Washington is so close to her co-star Tony Goldwyn that he's even offered to babysit her baby daughter, Isabella.

Goldwyn - who is the father of two teenaged daughters at home - recently revealed that he is willing to give new mother Washington a helping hand in the motherhood department, should she need it.

"I have been volunteering my services," Goldwyn said in an interview with Extra TV. "I've offered, we'll see. My kids are all grown-up so I'm ready."

Meanwhile, Washington herself recently opened up about what fans can expect for the next season of Scandal. The Emmy-nominated actress plays Olivia Pope in the hit ABC drama.

As far as what's going to happen next though, Washington hints that anything can happen.

"We don't have a script yet, I don't even know if that plane is going to Turks and Caicos or maybe it had engine trouble and is right back in D.C. I don't know where she's going. It's pretty crazy," Washington tells USA Today in a new interview. "You can't thrive with this material unless you're willing to embrace the unknown. I'm type A, hyper prepared - it challenges me to surrender to these writers."
